Gis was brutally murdered by a group of teenagers and then her body was throwed to a pit.

A few days after the descovery of the crime, a group of 30 persons gathered in the same parking lot where she lived for a simple memorial.

Gis with debilitated health was homeless and sleeped in the basement of the abandoned building that has some levels used for public parking space.

On the 2nd of March a memorial religious service took place, before her body was transladated to Brasil.

On 9th of March a memorial and public manifestation took place in Lisbon for dignification of the victim, new hate-crime legislation, and requesting a rethinking of the minors-in-risk care system.
