The main objective of the march is to show that children that are under abuse can complain about it and their complains must be eared.
With the case of Casa Pia child sexual abuse the child abuse theme became a national issue and in this setting it made sense to have an edition of the march that was fist done in Belgium.
The march in Lisbon (where theses photos are taken) gathered about 7'000 to 20'000 persons. It started at Rossio and ended in the top of Eduardo VII Park with speaches and in the end the ballons where released representing the children that are freed from abuses.
A final note on the (visible) presence in the march of several GLBT associations and groups (including PortugalGay.PT) that had oportunity to speak and reafirm that we are totally agains child abuse. The breaf joint speach by PortugalGay.PT/ILGA Portugal/Não Te Prives/Grupo Oeste Gay was very supported by the manifestants.
