Janis Jopin

Janie Joplin nasceu a 19 de Janeiro de 1943 em Port Arthur, Texas, Estados Unidos. A sua primeira actua��o foi em 1961 tendo trabalhado no Purple Onion club de Houston. Inspirada em Bessie Smith e Odetta, Joblin desenvolveu um estilo vocal muito peculiar. Em 1963 Janis mudou-se para San Francisco onde passou a ser a atrac��o do North Beach Coffee Gallery. Devido a problemas com drogas, Janis voltou ao Texas em 1965 numa tentativa de se limpar. Voltou aos estudos e ap�s ter recuperado da droga voltou a cantar nos Big Brother And The Holding Company. Durante os anos seguintes formou v�rias bandas mas voltou a ter problemas com a droga e o alcool tendo por fim falecido durante um concerto no dia 4 de Outubro de 1970 em Los Angeles com uma overdose de horo�na. Janis � normalmente referenciada como tendo sido bissexual.
